Suburbia

I finally ran the length of the trail that runs by our apartments. It quickly leaves the apartment complex area and follows the canal into....suburbia!
It was almost weird to see western style houses with log siding.
Or ones with hedge rows and yards. After a while I almost expected to see a white picket fence. Granted this is definitely not typical South Korea but it is interesting to see this little housing development.
The housing development looks back on the city of Gimpo and the high rise apartment buildings...and yes, that is a rice field in the foreground.
I really like Gimpo. With its city feel on one side and its country feel on the other. Pretty soon though this rice field will be eaten up by commercial and residential development and all of the land between Gimpo and the Han River will be swallowed by urbanization.
